The Inixion team has been attending Sage Partner Summits and other Sage events for decades, but the Sage Future event in Atlanta (which took place from June 3rd until June 5th) truly stood out. Our team came away with a renewed energy!
Beyond the exciting updates on Sage X3, our team loved diving into emerging trends, connecting with the broader Sage community, and catching up with several of our valued Inixion customers. The insights, inspiration, and conversations have left us energised for what’s ahead.
Below are some key highlights from this year’s summit from our Inixion duo in attendance this year – Ian Bromley – Managing Director and Andy Tracoshas, Sage X3 Consultant.
The Future is now – Exploring the power of AI
Just before heading to the Sage Future event, Ian came across a new AI tool, and it turned out to be a game-changer. The tool allowed him to record each session and automatically generate a summary, meaning no more frantic note-taking or missed insights. Instead, he could stay fully present during presentations and still walk away with all the key takeaways.
One of his LinkedIn posts, where he shared a summary of Sage CTO Aaron Harris’s keynote using this AI tool, really struck a chord and gained a lot of attention.
Aaron’s presentation highlighted just how deeply AI is woven into Sage’s long-term vision and products. Of course, it’s one thing to talk about AI, but as a technology company, Sage knows it’s critical to integrate AI meaningfully into products, helping customers unlock real productivity gains and smarter ways of working. Furthermore, Sage is a trusted financial systems brand, and Sage underlined how they are building their own AI Large Language Models (LLMs) by training them with industry standard accounting practice rules and regulations – thereby ensuring that the responses that come back from the AI are accurate and financially compliant.
Here are some of the key insights Aaron shared:
- Sage has been working on AI-powered products for over seven years, focusing on continuous assurance, accounting, and insights.
- They’re running 40,000+ machine learning (ML) models, producing over 3 billion predictions per year and processing nearly 50 million documents.
- AI is now embedded in 14 products across 20 countries and seven languages, with plans for even broader integration.
- Aaron outlined the three waves of AI evolution:
- Task-based AI (simple automation),
- Generative AI (more interactive and adaptable),
- The rise of agentic AI; intelligent, reasoning agents that can use tools autonomously.
- Thanks to progress in model efficiency, multimodal capabilities, and reasoning power, AI is becoming more powerful and accessible.
- Sage Copilot is now part of six Sage products, and being rolled out to Sage X3 as well; helping 40,000 customers and 5,000 accountants get more done, faster, with automation and actionable insights.
- CFOs are facing more pressure than ever, with talent shortages, rising compliance needs, and digital transformation. AI helps them “do more, do more smarter, and do more differently.”
- Sage’s AI strategy is built around focused R&D, the right tools, and a strong foundation of trust, security, and transparency.
- Sage is ensuring that it develops accounting-specific language models, which perform better than general-purpose ones, showing the power of purpose-built AI.
- Sage’s AI Factory automates and scales model training and learning, and they hold numerous patents in AI safety and trust.
Importantly, Sage is committed to responsible innovation, making sure AI remains transparent, explainable and aligned with customer needs.
Sage X3 – Sage’s only true Enterprise solution
Sage Copilot
As Sage X3 specialists, we’re excited to see Sage doubling down on Sage X3’s innovation and functionality. Sage X3 is evolving into a modular, cloud-native platform focused on industry-specific needs, operational maturity, and agile service delivery. Key advancements include the rollout of Sage Copilot – an AI-powered productivity and accounting assistant, enhanced accounts payable automation with PDF/email invoice processing, and robust e-invoicing features that support regulatory compliance, particularly in Europe. The introduction of tablet-based shop floor control and Sage Supply Chain Intelligence extends real-time data capture and visibility across manufacturing and logistics operations.
New supplier & customer portals
Meanwhile, new supplier and customer portals expand self-service capabilities, and a modernised UI/UX, supports intuitive workflows and streamlined user interaction. Behind the scenes, Sage’s investment in X3 Builder, GraphQL APIs, allowing low-code customisation, empowers rapid extensibility. The addition of a next-generation workflow engine and a vendor-managed cloud solution via Amazon Web Services (AWS) underscores Sage X3’s readiness as a fully cloud-enabled, enterprise-grade ERP.
With over 60,000 users guiding development and early adopter programmes accelerating innovation, Sage X3 is not just keeping pace: it’s leading the next era of intelligent, integrated, and scalable business management software.
We’re always big fans of Sage X3 but attending a global event where it took centre stage more than ever has left our team even more excited and inspired!
