Our people are central to the ‘Inixion Difference’ and we’re particularly proud of the fact that we have had zero employee attrition since our inception.
Check out the next instalment of our employee spotlight series, with Laura Walters, who started with Inixion this year, as our latest Project Manager. We asked Laura about her role at Inixion and what attracted her to work for us.
You started with Inixion earlier this year. What originally attracted you to Inixion?
Having worked for other Sage Business Partners and with other Sage products, I liked that Inixion specialises in Sage X3, which is the product I wanted to work with! From the first conversation with Andrew Cairns, Operations Manager, and Ian Bromley, our Managing Director, I thought that Inixion would be a great fit. It was clear that there was an open, honest, and supportive company culture from the start, which I think is really important. The fact that no employee has ever left to work elsewhere speaks volumes!
How did you ‘get into’ Sage X3?
I’ve worked in the Sage ‘arena’ for around 8 years in various roles with Sage Business Partners. I became a Project Manager back in 2016 and I was mainly focused on Sage 200 projects, which are typically smaller. Having worked on these for around 2 years I was beginning to get involved with larger and more complex projects and so I began to work with a Sage X3 team on implementations. When the opportunity to join Inixion came around it seemed like the perfect opportunity for me to progress further.
You’re our Project Manager, what does that role entail?
My overall role as Project Manager is to plan, execute and manage the delivery of our projects, ensuring they are delivered successfully to the customer. This means that I work closely with both the customer and our operations team throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that the right people are involved at the right time and that risks and issues are proactively resolved. It’s an interesting and varied job – no two days are ever the same.
What do you like best about working at Inixion?
For me it’s the team – everyone gets on and we work well together, both inside and outside of the work environment! Being new at the beginning of the year I found it easy to settle into the team and was made to feel very welcome and supported from day one. Even though we all work remotely we have regular meetings, help is always there when you need it, and everyone always has time for a chat. We’ve got a great team!
What does a typical day at Inixion look like for you?
I could be project planning, working on resource allocation one day and dealing with project issues the next. I have regular weekly meetings internally with the project team and with the customer to ensure that projects are progressing and everyone is informed. Every day is different and varied, which is something I really like about my job!
At Inixion we talk about ‘Making your business our business’, How do you experience that?
One of Inixion’s strengths is its track record in delivering successful Sage X3 projects and in turn building collaborative relationships with customers. This includes gaining a deep understanding of how our customers run their business from the start, so we can fully support them whenever they need us – from the first project, through to day-to-day support.
What do you think makes Inixion stand out from its competitors?
Aside from Inixion only working with one product and being ‘specialists’ in Sage X3, again, I think it’s the Inixion team! Everyone works so closely with each other so it means knowledge can be shared easily, and between decades of experience in the team, issues can often be resolved quickly. I think we also have built great relationships with our customers!
